Obesity

The word obesity is been derived from Latin word Obesitas, which means "stout, fat or plump". Obesity is a condition in which there is excessive  accumulation of body fat, to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health, leading to various health problems. Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means too much weight. It is defined by body mass index (BMI)), a measurement obtained by dividing person's weight by the square of the person's height. The BMI range less than 25 kg/m2, 25–30 kg/m2 defined as overweight and above 30 is considered obese.
Obesity may lead to ::
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Heart stroke
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Asthma
- Certain types of cancer
- Osteoarthritis
Causes ::
- Improper Diet i.e. over eating, consuming too many calories and junk food
- Sedentary lifestyle i.e. lack of physical activity
- Genetics
- Certain medication
- Endocrine disorders and Certain illnesses like  hypothyroidism, Cushing's syndrome, growth hormone deficiency and the eating disorders: binge eating disorder and night eating syndrome. 
Management ::
Dieting management i.e. reducing the consumption of energy-dense foods, such as those high in fat and sugars, and by increasing the intake of dietary fiber. Physical exercise i.e. Morning walk, yoga, aerobics etc.
