Cancer is a disease wherein there is an abnormal cell growth with continuous growth and division of cells even when there are signals telling them to stop, it has tendency to invade or spread to other parts of the body known as metastases. There are over 100 different known cancers that affect human beings.
Risk factors :
Cause of cancer is uncertain, here are some of the risk factors which may lead to cancer

When cancer begins, it presents no symptoms, only appear to be as the mass which continues to grow. Local symptoms may occur as it puts pressure on surrounding parts.
Metastasis means spreading of Cancer its original site by local spread, lymphatic spread or by blood to distant sites, known as metastasis. The symptoms of metastatic cancers depend on the location of the tumor.
Investigation :
Most cancers are initially recognized either because of the appearance of signs or symptoms or through screening like blood tests, X-rays, CT scans and  endoscopy.
Cancer can be detected by certain signs and symptoms or screening tests. It is then typically further investigated by medical imaging and confirmed by biopsy.
Chances of survival :
The chance of survival depends on the type of cancer and extent at the start of treatment.
